Dee was a medical social worker for more than 20 years in hospitals and health clinics on Martha’s Vineyard and in New Mexico, Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia.

She studied massage therapy at Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, graduating in 1996. She moved with her husband, potter Hollis Engley, to Falmouth, Mass., on Cape Cod in 1998 and opened her own practice.

Dee Engley Therapeutic Massage was at 230 Main Street from 1999 until she moved in 2006 to her current office at 314 Gifford St. in the Homeport medical complex.

She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., and a master’s degree in social work from Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.

Dee is a nationally certified member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She continues her training annually with regional and national seminars.

Dee has a client-centered practice with all age groups, providing relaxation and therapeutic massage. She uses Swedish, deep-tissue and myofascial techniques.

In addition to table massage in her office and in home visits, she also provides chair massage at the Falmouth Senior Center and is available for on-site chair massage. On her days off, as you can see from the pictures, Dee loves working in her gardens and kayaking the thin water around Falmouth.
